The Editor of Daily Sun newspaper, Steve Nwosu, was shot today in the Maza-maza area of the Lagos-Badagry expressway, Lagos.

Nwosu was on his way to work when he was shot.

According to SaharaReporters, Nwosu was shot in the head by individuals yet to be identified but he survived. The motives of his attackers are unknown.

Nwosu had reportedly gone to the bank with his driver to withdraw some money when the incident happened. It is therefore not clear if it was an assassination attempt or a robbery incident.
Mr. Nwosu, who writes a column in The Sun Newspapers, was said to have been shot in his official Toyota Avensis car.
The assailants were said to have been on a motorcycle when they shot Nwosu who was sitting in-front of the car beside the driver.
Mr. Femi Adesina, the newspaper’s Deputy Managing Director, said, “Steve is fine,” when asked about the status of the victim.
“There were no serious wounds, but he had to be kept overnight in the hospital for observation. As you know, the shock of an experience like that could be traumatic”.

Mr. Nwosu is said to be recuperating in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
