#DanaCrash: Gov Fashola offers relief to three kids orphaned by the crash

Three kids who were orphaned by the Dana Air Flight crashed in Lagos last Sunday, have received succour from the Lagos State governor, Governor Babatunde Fashola, who took them into his custody pending when their relatives come forward.

Their parents had sent them on an errand when the plane crashed on their home with their parents inside. They have been roaming the streets, homeless since then.

The kids – Joel Okechukwu (11), Chisom Okechukwu (9), and Esther Okechukwu were wandering around the road when they were spotted and rescued by the governor during his visit to the site on Monday.

Presently, the children are at the Government House, Ikeja. The Lagos State commissioner for information and strategy, Aderemi Ibirogba, who briefed newsmen, said that the kids would remain in the Government House, till their relatives are identified.

The commissioner said the kids had slept in the home of a good Samaritan on Sunday before they were seen and picked up by Gov Fashola when he visited the crash site on Monday.

Gov Fashola also visited some of the crash victims undergoing treatment at the emergency unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja. He condoled with the victims and their families.
