With less than seventy-two hours to the release one of the year’s robustly anticipated movie, Avengers: Endgame, cast members were out to attend the world premiere at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Monday. From Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson to Tessa Thompson, Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey Jnr, it was an assemble of actors who have joyfully brought to life superheros that we have come to love, even though I think Captain America and Iron Man would die in Endgame.
Most notably is Danai Gurira, who looked stunning in a bubblegum pink dress and her co-star Letitia Wright, who dazzled in a silver patterned suit. Before Endgame, Gurira and Wright both starred in Avengers: Infinity War, both it was the record-breaking success of Black Panther that thrust them into the mainstream.
Playing Okoye and Shuri respectively, these actresses have portrayed female characters that have struck a chord with fandom: Okoye, leader of warrior women and Shuri, who is super-smart and tech-savvy. Endgame hits theaters April 26 and it would be the closing volume of Marvel’s phase three. Reviews have generally been good, very good that it’s been regarded as one of the best installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Sadly, though, Shuri didn’t survive Thanos’ snap, but it will be enormously gratifying to see all the Avengers avenge (sorry, for lack of a better word), the members who have fallen. April 26 can’t come soon enough.
