A policeman, Sunday Uloko, yesterday pleaded with the Agege Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve his marriage to Nnee, saying she is troublesome, always willing to fight, and regularly embarrasses him in public.
He also accused her of not being welcoming to his family saying she does not want him to have any form of relationship with them.
He said he cannot even venture to buy phone recharge cards from vendors within their place of abode without being accused of having a relationship with the seller.
Uloko reportedly told the court that his wife is known in Area ‘G’ and has been warned not to come there again or risk being arrested.
His wife, Nnee, agreed to the dissolution of their marriage which has produced a four-year-old child. She said she cannot return to her husband’s house because his sister has promised to beat her up if she dares return.
She accused Uloko of being a womanizer saying their marital problems started when he brought a woman to their home saying it was his sister despite the fact that she knows all his sisters.
She said he and his brother recently beat her up resulting in her loss of a five-month old pregnancy; an allegation Uloko denied.
The court asked the policeman to provide N5,000 for the upkeep of their child and refund Nnee with money for the hospital bill she claimed to have paid provided she can present the receipt of payment.
The case was adjourned till September 25, 2012 for further hearing.
