The House of Assembly in Edo on Wednesday approved the construction of houses worth N200m for ex-governors in any location of their choice.

The lawmakers also approved a N100m house for ex-deputy governors.

The approval by the lawmakers followed the consideration of a bill for a law to amend the existing legislation on the Pension Rights of Governors and their Deputies in the state.

Majority Leader, Foly Ogedengbe, who moved the motion for the bill said House rules 20, 27, 42, 43, 44 and 45 be suspended, to enable the assembly to consider the bill.

The motion was seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie (APC -Uhunwode).
