David Beckham’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) might never materialise after all. The French club’s sporting director, Leonardo, has all but conceded defeat in the quest to bring the English superstar to the club.
However, Leonardo did not completely rule out the possibility of the former Manchester United and Real Madrid right-sided midfielder signing from LA Galaxy, as he also said he will give him as much time as he wants to decide on his next move. “The question has never been professional but about his family. It is a difficult choice to make to move his family to Paris. We are going to wait a bit. It is a personal choice and it is not easy for him. I have an incredible admiration for him as a player and a father too. I understand that it is difficult to move,” he said.
Beckham has been heavily linked with a move to the Ligue 1 club ever since the Major League Soccer (MLS) season ended. And with the Paris based club now backed by wealthy owners, the deal was expected to be sealed right away but the former England captain’s family appear to be settled in Los Angeles and might not be too keen on the move.
