Yes, we got the money – Fashola admits that Lagos has received FG’s #Ebola money

The Lagos State Government has confirmed the receipt of N200 million pledged by the Federal Government to support the containment of the Ebola Virus Disease in the state.

Babatunde Fashola, the state governor, confirmed this while receiving some Ebola protective and relief items donated by MTN Nigeria in Ikeja.

Fashola said that Lagos received the money last Wednesday and thanked the Federal Government for fulfilling its pledge.

President Goodluck Jonathan had announced a N1.9 billion intervention fund to fight the Ebola Virus Disease following the death of the first index and the Liberian who brought the disease into Nigeria. He also pledged the sum of N200million to Lagos state to support its efforts at containing the spread of the virus.

“Yes we have received the money. We got the N200 million on Wednesday. It is definitely going to help in our efforts to contain the virus,’’ Fashola said.

The governor said that the state government was working closely with the Federal Government and other partners to effectively fight the disease.
