A 22-year-old man was said to have shot dead his Facebook girlfriend after realizing she was in fact a 45-year-old housewife in India.

The man, Vineet Singh reportedly spent 3 years romancing  Jyoti Kori online, the deceased claimed she was 21 and had used a fake picture on her profile.

The online had agree to meet by a scenic waterfall near her hometown of Jabalpur on Friday.

The police say that Singh was stunned when he discovered that she was actually married with three children.

It was reported that Singh shot her dead before he killed himself with the gun.

He was rushed to the hospital but died as a result of his serious injuries.
