The Film Blog: The crowd of Nollywood stars in Rwanda reminds you that AMAA is not dead

There is an abundance of people so upset at the mediocrity of the Africa Movie Academy Awards that they just want it shut down. You hear it often in film circles, especially with younger people. We chronicled one such angry bird here.

Still, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, for all her many flaws, continues to make it happen, and you have to respect that. You really have to.

On Saturday, 24 June, there was a reminder of her grit as she got Rwandan government and corporates to support the Nominees Party for 2017.

The roll call is impressive: Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Paul Obazele, Tony Anih, Doris Simon, Chinedu Ikezie, Bolanle Austen Peters, Tonye Princewill, Emem Isong, Isu Ojukwu, Osita Iheme, and Lydia Forson.

The countdown continues until the show in July.
