It’s that awkward moment when somebody accidentally steals the limelight from the main attraction.

Gemma Arterton wowed the audience as she attended the tribute to Jonathan Demme at the 12th International Marrakech Film Festival, in Morocco.

The former Bond Girl looked positively radiant as she added some glamour to proceedings on Thursday evening.

Gemma, 26 looked radiant in a sleeveless long lace dress that was both racy and ladylike at the same time.

The actress managed to pull off the low cut dress without making the mistake of showing off too much cleavage.

The dress, which featured a small split at the front was sheer with a nude colour underlining. Gemma completed the form fitting outfit beautifully by wearing her hair down in very soft curls.

She accessorised with some attention grabbing high heels that were encrusted with sharp shiny studs.

Gemma was hosting the event but handed over proceedings to actor Terence Stamp who presented director Deeme with his special award.

Deeme was being honoured for his work in film including critically acclaimed hits such as Philadelphia, The Silence of the Lambs and Devil In A Blue Dress.

After attending the film festival Gemma will be returning to her day job as she stars in a new BBC Two sitcom.

The dark comedy is being written by the creators of The League of Gentlemen and Psychoville.

Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton will co-star in the six part show, which has the working title of Inside No 9.
