For Poets: Love (less) date

by Osi Celestine

One shape, one colour

One meaning, one language

One feeling, one word

LOVE

Two people, two sexes

Two houses, two cities

Two ideas, two words

IT’S VALENTINE

We met, we ate

We laughed, we sang

We danced, three words

IT’S HIGH TIME

I stopped, I sighed

I knelt, I paused

I spoke, four words

THELMA, BE MY BRIDE

They saw, they heard

They clapped, they cheered

They awaited, five words

CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING

She flicked, she chuckled

She walked, she turned

She said, six words

NOT IN THIS LIIFE LOVER BOY

This day, this month

Every year, seven words

TRUE LOVE EXISTS ONLY IN THE MIND
