Title: Friends with Benefits

Director: Will Gluck

Category: Movie

The above refers to the thrill of no commitments, no questions asked, no heartbreak, just the pure joy of a number on speed dial with the ability to get you a warm body to curl up to, since Lagos rain has decided to press ‘Countinuous Play’ this year.

Parties involved in said agreement usually keep it discreet, and refer to it saying things like “No one gets hurt, it’s strictly physical.” or “We’re just fooling around, we don’t wanna ruin our friendship with the complications of a relationship.” To this, I crunch up my nose in a very big *yimu*.

It’s good to end a long day at work with a feel-good movie of two pretty people who decide to be sex-buddies and end up falling in love. I have to say though that this storyline is getting old, and the self-explanatory title didn’t quite help with the suspense either.

Luckily, they did a bang up job! This is the ultimate feel good movie; comedy, real life, a little bit of choreographed dancing in the streets of NY and of course, JT rapping to Kris Kros’ hit Jump. I especially like that the movie didn’t end after the big kiss…we got to see that indeed, what comes after the big kiss is porn.
