Okorocha was inspecting projects in the Orlu area of the state when his official car collided with a private  Mercedes Saloon car, reports say.

No news yet about how his driver or the passengers in the other vehicle are doing but Okorocha’s aide, Ebere Uzoukwa, had told journalists that the governor was “stable and strong” and had received medical attention after he sustained a “minor cut” on his head.

According to reports, he was treated at St. Mary’s Children & Community Hospital, Umuowa, before going abroad.

In a statement issued, Saturday, Chinedu Offor, the Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, stated that the state governor had completed his scan and his doctors announced that there was no internal bleeding, fracture of the skull, swelling, or vision problems.

“The head is still sore but, he just needs to rest his head,” Offor said.

Okorocha had decided he would seek further medical attention due to the level of impact of the accident on him.

“Although the accident left me with a cut and some minor injuries, I am fine. I will, however, seek further medical attention because of the degree of impact made by the crash,” Okorocha reportedly said.
