Former Councillor of Ward 1, in the Abua/Odua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Allain John-Morrison was beheaded by gunmen clad in military uniforms on Tuesday.
The APC chieftain was murdered after his killers waylaid him while returning from Port Harcourt via a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, who was spared of the attack, reported the ordeal to the police – The Punch reports.
John-Morrison had just come from an Appeal Court which had ruled in favour of his party in a case involving 22 sacked local government chairmen.
