The Kogi State police command have arrested a man, Hosea Folorunsho, for allegedly killing his 4-month-old son for ritual purposes.

While briefing newsmen on the alleged murder, the state commissioner of police, Mohammed Katsina said Folorunsho, who lives in Egbe town of Yagba West local government council proceeded to bury the baby in a shallow grave within his compound.

The suspect, who is said to be an herbalist, confessed to have committed the crime on New Year’s Eve, around 11:55pm when the baby was fast asleep.

Folorunsho was ordered by the police to take them to the location where the baby, Sunday Folorunsho was buried and his body was exhumed by the suspect.

A pathologist who accompanied the police to the suspect’s residence confirmed that the child died of multiple fractures through the application of blunt object and trauma.

The 48-year-old suspect is married with three other children.
