A young mother in Indiana has been charged with attempted murder after police say she tried to kill her 3-month-old baby by stuffing a sock in his mouth, wrapping tape around his head and putting him face-down in a closet.
Sasha J. Hunt, 22, has also been charged with felony child neglect for the Oct. 13 incident in Berne, police said, according to the News-Sentinel.

The woman’s husband, Nathan Hunt, told police his wife has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is under a doctor’s care.

But she had stopped taking medication for her mental disorder when she became pregnant, the husband said.
Her behavior had become increasingly erratic, her husband said. He told police she had recently pushed an air conditioner out a window and kicked holes in the doors and walls of their home.
He found the baby about 1 a.m. after hearing cries from the second floor. He followed the sounds to a closet, where he opened the door and found his son.
