A mad thought to be mentally unstable has been arrested with a locally made double-barrel gun and three toy guns at the Tolu area of Ajegunle in Lagos.

The man, simply identified as Monday was arrested in an abandoned school police believe serves as a hideout for armed robbers. There are speculation that the arrested man might be an armourer for robbers.

Adegbenro, a man resident in the area spoke to the press claiming the man is insane. He said, “His family lives at Tomoloju Street, Tolu, Ajegunle. His health issue started while he was in higher institution so, I know him very well, he is insane.”

Adeolu, another resident of the area, however, disagrees saying the suspect normally stays close to the refuse dump collecting money from cart pushers who use the refuse dump.

According to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tolu Police Station, Godwin Ezeare, the police are in the process of ascertaining Monday’s mental state how he came about the guns found on him.

Monday was reportedly incoherent with his speech when he was interviewed. “I belong to a cult group called White Angels Corps of Arrest Force. I am the Area Commander of Ilaje Federation in Ajegunle,” he said.
