I regret joining the APC without… – Dogara

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has expressed regrets over his inability to lure Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, into the All Progressive Congress.

Dogara, who made the statement on Sunday, said he’s confident that Governor Ugwuanyi would bring his progressive ideals to Enugu state.

The Speaker made the comments at a grand reception organized by Senator Chuka Utazi from Enugu-North senatorial district on behalf of Nsukka Cultural Zone at the Government Field in Nsukka, Enugu state.

“For us in the House of Representatives, the governor is our Ambassador. The fact that I am here today attests to the kind of leadership Ugwuanyi provided during his stay at the National Assembly.

I have no doubt that Ugwuanyi’s pedigree will be brought to bear in Enugu State.”

“I will hold him (Ugwuani) accountable if he does not bring those developmental goals we discuss to Enugu State. He was a progressive mind at the House of Rep. One of my regrets is that I did not cross over to APC with him”.
