ICC summons AGF over soldiers, shi’ites clash in Zaria

The International Criminal Court of Justice has summoned the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami over the clash between soldiers and Shiite members in Zaria in 2015.

The clash which was widely reported had led to the death of many.

Malami has been invited to explain the part played by the military during the clash.

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria otherwise known as shi’tes on Tuesday protested at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Abuja.

The group claims that over one hundred persons were killed in Kano on Monday during a clash with the police.

Shi’ites claimed that the group was embarking on a peaceful religious march when they were confronted by the police.

They called on the NHRC to inform President Muhammadu Buhari that members of the group are citizens of Nigeria that deserve to be protected from all kind of harm from enemies of peace and humanity.
