Muhammadu-Buhari-3

The Ijaw Youths Congress (IYC) has handed out a 7-point agenda to the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), identifying critical areas that the new government must address when he takes over power, for ex-militants not to resume their activities in the creeks.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, the worldwide president of the congress, Udengs Eradiri, who read a resolution reached by various youth groups in the Niger Delta Region under the umbrella of IYC on April 5 in Tuomo community in Delta State, alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan was rigged out of office by the core North in connivance with the international community and a section of the South West.

The congress which noted with satisfaction President Jonathan’s achievements in office said they have resolved to wait patiently to see if Buhari’s administration will favour them.

Eradiri called on the incoming president, Muhammadu Buhari to reciprocate Jonathan’s goodwill to the North through his policy programmes and projects for the oil producing region, including the sustenance, strengthening and proper funding of all existing federal structures set up to develop the area such as the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA) and other schemes.
