Nigerian veteran film star Iyabo Ojo was the guest host at Ay Makun’s latest episode of Glass House Show, where she divulged her journey into becoming one of the most famous Nollywood actresses in the country.
According to Iyabo Ojo, her friend, and actress, Bimbo Akintola, she had given her a breakthrough in her film career. The actress claimed she always had an affinity for arts like rapping, singing, acting, and debating. She shared memories of her early years back in secondary school and how outspoken she was.
“I’ve always wanted to be in entertainment, so I was involved in all social activities in secondary school. I was very famous, from secondary school, not as Ojo, as Ogunro.
“For years, I didn’t know which exactly, whether I wanted to sing, I was singing, rapping, debating,” she said.
The actress appreciated Bimbo Akintola for giving her a shot at stardom, as Iyabo Ojo stated that she visited Bimbo for an audition after completing her secondary school degree.
“Back to acting, I watched Bimbo Akintola, and there was this movie I saw, it was Out Of Bounds, and I just said, this is what I want to do, this is who I wanna be. This is what I want, and that was it for me. That’s when I made up my mind.”
