After having a major breakthrough in his young acting career through his award-winning performance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Nigerian-British actor John Boyega is now set to play a major role in the sequel to box office hit – Pacific Rim.
It even gets better.
The actor who recently visited Nigeria will play the son of Idris Elba‘s character in the Del Toro-directed original film.
According to Legendary Pictures’ vice chairman of worldwide production, Mary Parent, “It is undeniable that with all his talent and natural charm, John stands out amongst today’s generation of young leading men.”
The first installment of Pacific Rim, starring Elba and Charlie Hunnam, raked in a whopping $11,000,000 worldwide.
