Police corporal, Daramola Tosin has come to the end of his career in the security agency after he was dismissed from the force for allegedly killing an Inspector, Lateef Shuaib, over N300,000.
According to Punch, Tosin, who was attached to the Ekiti Police Division in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, is said to have shot and killed the Inspector after he withdrew N300,000 from the latter’s account without permission.
Shuaib, a father of two, had given his Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card to Tosin when he fell ill, with which the alleged killer policeman had withdrawn money for Shuaib’s use.
Tosin thereafter, began withdrawing money from Shuaib’s account for his own personal use. This was later detected by the Inspector who rebuked Tosin for the action.
The suspect allegedly shot at Shuaib while he was defecating with an AK-47 rifle and subsequently buried him behind the police barrack.
Shuaib was reported missing at the Osi Police Station on May 10, 2016, by Sherifat Hammed, Shuaib sister, who said that she suspected Tosin because her brother had told her about the ATM situation.
Speaking on the incidence, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula, confirmed it, saying that the Tosin had confessed to the crime and has been dismissed from the force.
