Nollywood veterans Joke Silva, Patience Ozokwor and Alex Usifo co-star in the upcoming movie ‘Victims of Society’ directed by actor turned film maker Elvis Chucks.
According to the media release, the film is an advocacy flick done artistically on the aftermath effect of child abuse. It takes a holistic look at what happens when a child is turned into a monster and when that monster is unleashed on the society. The movie explores the damaging effect of abuse on the society at large.
Enjoying corporate support from P&G and Indomie amongst others, the film will be premiering November 20th which is the universal children’s day and November 25th( ABUJA International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women). The Ghana premiere is for the 1st of December (World AIDS Day); London, 10th December (Human Rights Day) after which Cinema and DVD releases will follow.
Director Elvis Chucks became popular with his roles in numerous Nollywood flicks and the family soap ‘Super story.’ He is one of the very few to have studied motion pictures outside the shores of the country, where he bagged an advanced diploma in motion picture and live production. He has starred in ‘Beyond Our Dreams’, MNET’s ‘’Doctors Quarters’, ‘Supernova’ and any more.
In his words; “the movie is for the society and not for Nigeria alone. According to reports 75% of people in the world have been victims of one thing or the other. I am very passionate about this movie because the message cuts across the social classes in our society and the world over”
Zulu Adigwe, Xolile Tshabalala, Daddy Fresh, Cossy Orjiakor and the late Ashley Nwosu, in who’s memory the film is dedicated, also co-starred.
