Supporters of Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye and those of the state’s governor, Yahaya Bello has clashed in Lokoja, the state capital, Punch reports.
Melaye had arrived Kogi to address his supporters over plans to recall him from the Senate.
His supporters and that of the governor’s reportedly exchanged gunshots.
It was learnt that Melaye was addressing his supporters at the gate of the State Polytechnic, Felele before gunshots were heard.

One of the supporters bearing a pump action gun was reportedly shot.
It was gathered that Special Adviser to the state governor, Air Commodore Jerry OModara and the State Commissioner of Police Wilson Inalevu later arrived.
