Kogi gov. appeals: NSCDC deploys over 1,000 personnel ahead of court judgement

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), has deployed over 1, 000 personnel to Kogi State ahead of the Supreme Court judgement on the governorship election appeals on Tuesday.

Commandant of the Corps in the state, Everestus Obiyo stated this at a press briefing in Lokoja on Monday.

He said the personnel were deployed to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order after the court judgement.

He urged the people of the state to remain peaceful during and after the judgement.

Obiyo urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, parents and guardians, to educate their people on the need to avoid acts capable of undermining peace in the state.

Both Wada and Faleke had sought judgement of the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal upheld the election of Governor Yahaya Bello.
