The minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji has tendered his resignation. It is not clear why he has decided to do so at this this time but there have been various oppositions to his vision for carrying the power sector forward.
He has had a long-lasting challenge with various electricity unions who have clearly opposed his planned privatization programme to improve the fortunes of the sector.
Reports say Dr. Reuben Abati, the presidential spokesman has released a statement saying the president has accepted his resignation and thanked him for his service to the nation.
