List of the Day – 2 musical covers, 1 remix and a huge movie!

by Ore Fakorede

Today’s list features downloadable music and all you need to know about the upcoming mutant action movie, X-Men: First Class.

Download: For awhile, it seemed that former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland was moving away from R&B towards the dance/techno genre. Her most recent single, the sexy, laidback ‘Motivation’ which features rapper Lil Wayne, is a departure from her recent crossover experiments. ‘Motivation’ is her biggest R&B hit in the last nine years and the song has spawned a few covers. Here’s one by R&B veteran Raheem Devaughn and another by young crooner Jeremih. Which do you prefer?

Download: ‘Hello Good Morning’, the third single from Diddy-Dirty Money’s debut album ‘Last Train To Paris’ has been remixed over and over again. Since rap icons T.I. and Rick Ross have both laid rhymes over the Danja-produced track, it was only a matter of time before multi-Grammy winner Eminem reached for a big piece of the action.

Explore: Mutated humans have become huge stars courtesy of the X-Men movie franchise. Opening in cinemas on the 3rd of June, the fifth instalment, X-men: First Class is a prelude to the first three X-Men movies which stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and January Jones. The film is set in 1962 and the plot which tracks the friendship between Charles Xavier (later known as Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr (the future Magneto) also reveals secret historical details from the Cold War era including the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Civil Rights Movement. Enough of all the talk, it’s time you met the mutants!
