Too many things were going on between me and Five Star Music – Harrysong

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Harrison Tare Okiri simply known as Harrysong, has said he had issues with Five Star Music, but the record label made him “a better person, a better writer, better producer and a better musician.”

The singer who came into limelight after his tribute song to Nelson Mandela won the “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” at The Headies 2013, said this on Sunday at the Rubbin’ Minds programme on Channels TV.

Harrysong said he wrote some songs for former label mate, KCee.

Harrysong also stated that he writes songs looking at consumer’s perspective in order to do things differently, not following trends every time.

He said his aim as a musician is to pass out message, “sometimes positive or negative”.

On his relationship status, the 36-year-old said he’s not in any relationship but he’s not a ‘playboy’ either.

He stated that, “Marriage is not a thing to rush to we learn everyday in marriage and I’m not ready.”
