McCain continues cancer treatment in Washington

To ensure active delivery of his constitutional duties, Sen. John McCain will undergo treatment for brain cancer in the Washington area, his office announced on Tuesday.

McCain was diagnosed earlier in the summer with glioblastoma, a severe form of brain cancer.

His office said in a statement that McCain who before now was undergoing treatment in his home state received an MRI at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda on Monday.

The statement said, “Following the advice of his doctors, Senator McCain will continue to receive targeted radiation and chemotherapy treatments at NIH while maintaining a regular work schedule in the United States Senate.” But, no update was provided on his condition.
