Melissa Rivers has found a way to work through her grief for her mother, sparring partner, and closest friend, Joan Rivers- a memoir.

Crown Archetype announced Wednesday that The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation will come out May 5.

According to Crown, an imprint of Penguin Random House, the book will feature jokes, stories and advice.

Melissa said in a statement issued through Crown that laughter had ‘less side effects than Prozac’ and was ‘a lot cheaper than therapy.’

‘In our family we always believed that laughter was the best medicine,’ Melissa said. ‘I wanted to write a book that would make my mother laugh. I hope it makes you laugh, too.’

According to People, Melissa who received an award for her mother at the just concluded Grammys on Sunday, will share personal and comical anecdotes from her childhood in the upcoming book.

One example is her mother’s idea of a math lesson: ‘I can do tips and discounts and figure out the number of gay men in an audience to make it a good show. That’s all the math you’ll ever need.’
