More inspirational than Mandela? Nigeria's pastor Iruku is London's choice

by Seyi Lawal

London based anti-gay cleric with Nigerian heritage has been named the most inspirational black man in a poll organized by the Mayo rof London. To commemorate the annual Black History Month, the poll organisers had pitched renowned black individuals including the American president, Barrack Obama, US human rights activist Martin Luther King and the highly celebrated former South-African president, Nelson Mandela  against 61 other black people including Agu Iruku, a Redeemed Christian Church Of God pastor who eventually topped the poll with 54 percent of the votes going his way.

According to a Metro.co.uk report, Agu gained prominence for his open anti-gay campaign, “attacking laws which force churches to accept gay people.”
