National Assembly aides at war with Dino Melaye’s brother – Here’s why

Aides of Senators and House of Representatives members under the umbrella of National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum have rejected the plan to impose a younger brother of Senator Dino Melaye, as their chairman.

The group through its Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Bamidele, declared that Samuel Melaye was not eligible to contest for the position as he had earlier been defeated at the geo-political zone level election.

The group further stated that allowing Samuel to be chairman would be a violation of the zoning agreement which the group had decided upon.

Samuel however, declared that he won votes of over 300 of his counterparts at a properly publicised election within the National Assembly which was witnessed by top management staff, security operatives and the executive of the parliamentary staff.

As if the chaos their bosses in the Upper chambers is not enough, even the aides must tussle for power.
