The Nigerian Navy on Saturday said it has arrested 7 suspected oil thieves in the Escravos axis of Delta State.
This was revealed in a statement by the Director of Information of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Christian Ezekobe.
According to Ezekobe, 6 of the suspects were arrested during a raid by a team at Escravos, Sara Creek, Delta State on September 7.
Ezekobe said the team also destroyed boats containing stolen oil.
He further disclosed that “one speed boat, a Cotonou boat carrying 15×10,000 liters and 2 x 5000 liters GP tanks laden with suspected illegally refined Automotive Gas oil” were recovered.
Three outboard engines and four pumping machines were also recovered from the oil thieves.
