Nduka Obaigbena’s Arise Africa TV hires Emmy award winner, Jeff Koinange as chief anchor

Emmy award winner, Jeff Koinange is the Chief anchor and reporter for Nduka Obaigbena’s Arise Africa TV station, reports claim.

Koinange is a Kenyan journalist and was prior to the announcement, chief reporter at TV station K24. He previously served as the Africa correspondent for CNN and CNN International from 2001 to 2007.

Arise Africa is a new international TV station that will broadcast all over the world.

 Obaigbena who is also the chairman and founder of Nigerian newspaper THISDAY, announced the launch of his TV station in July 2012. “Ladies and gentlemen, before now you are aware that news and information on Africa has been broadcasted by Sky News, Aljazeera and CNN but THISDAY is set to alter the information landscape with Arise Television Network in about 180 days from now, broadcasting live news and information on Africa from major capital cities of the world to over 200 million global audience….From London where we have our operational licence, we will broadcast live in New Delhi, Johannesburg, Beijing, New York, Lagos and a host of other capital cities of the world,” he aid.

Koinange’s show, “Capital Talk”, lifted K24’s profile significantly and fans are anxious to see what move K24 will make to fill the gap now that he’s gone.

Also “The Bench” was one of the most popular shows in the station, in fact almost synonymous to the K24 brand.
