The inaugural edition of the New Media Conference is set to take place on May 27 at Terra Kulture, Lagos where established names in digital media like Ameyaw Debrah, Subomi Plumptre, Tolu Ogunlesi, Demilade Olaosun and many others will be shedding light on the misconceptions of New Media in West Africa and how it can become a viable business for those involved.

The event with the theme ‘new media in this age: changing the whole perspective is set to attract aspiring bloggers, digital media specialists and stake holders in digital media.

Speaking about the event, Ameyaw Kissi Debrah is excited of the opportunity to share blogging and social media experiences with participants and well as other panelist. “Hopefully I can also tap into the experiences of others and learn a thing or two to improve my new media approach,” he said.

Also, Subomi Plumptre Lead Corporate & Social Media Practices of Alder Consulting said “I’m greatly looking forward to the event. We tend to underestimate the impact of digital media in Nigeria but it has created new jobs, changed political outcomes and introduced new media paradigms. This conference is therefore well worth having.”
