President Goodluck Jonathan gave his Independence Day broadcast to the nation earlier today expressing optimism about the future of the country and conviction that Nigeria is on a steady course to greatness.

He spoke about the menace of terrorism assuring citizens that his administration will do all in its power to squash the scourge once and for all.
