It’s no longer news that Arsenal FC of England is scheduled to have a pre-season tour of Nigeria.
Preparations are already in top gear, according to the chairman of the tour, Rasak Bello-Osagie, who also assured that the organisers were “putting everything in place to ensure the tour is successful. All the logistics are in place”.
Meanwhile, several Nigeria Premier League teams have shown interest in taking on the visiting English team. The tour liaison officer, Waidi Akanni, disclosed the clubs which, have signified interest so far include Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, Akwa United FC, Sunshine Stars of Oshogbo, and 3SC of Ibadan.
He said: “It is good that we have teams that would be taking on Arsenal. Arsenal is an exciting team to watch and it will be good for our teams to want to play them.”
