NLC faction set to defy court order, to embark on strike

Despite a restraining order from the National Industrial Court, a faction of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has sworn that the intended strike action will go on.

According to The Cable, the trade union’s head of information, Benson Upah, said “‎NLC’s position has not shifted. The strike will go on tomorrow,” he said.

The NLC spokesperson was adamant: “Quote me the strike will go on tomorrow.”

The union also directed its affiliates to mobilize themselves for the strike, noting that a protest will take-off at the NLC’s Federal Capital Secretariat by 8am.
