No movement in Borno for 2 days – Nigerian Army

The Nigerian army has restricted vehicular movement in Borno during the New Year and Eid Moulud celebrations.

The 7 Division of Nigerian Army has imposed a total ban on vehicular movement within its ‘Area of Responsibility’ from 6.00am on Thursday, 1st January 2015 to 6.00pm on Friday 2nd January 2015.

A press release signed by the spokesperson of the Division, Colonel Sani Usman, stated that the directive also applies to movement by animals (horses), bicycles, motorcycles, tri-cycles and motor vehicles are totally banned in the State during the specifies period

Furthermore, the statement said: “The restriction is informed by the need to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of law abiding citizens of Borno State throughout the period.”

Colonel Usman also implored the public to report any suspicious movement of persons or vehicles around their environments to the nearest security agencies
