The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has maintained that his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot determine his fate as Speaker.
Tambuwal whose security detail was withdrawn by the authorities after defecting to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), said this in Kaduna at the party’s North-West Zonal Executive meeting.
Tambuwal maintained that only God and his colleagues in the House can determine his fate.
Reports say the Speaker arrived the meeting without his security aides but was shielded by party members and associates.
Earlier, the APC Vice-National Chairman, North-West, Mr. Inuwa Abdulkadir, had told the gathering that the meeting was to address topical issues bothering the party in particular and the nation in general.
He said, “Issues that will bring about national harmony and promote national development among others are what we are here to discuss.”
Abdulkadir said APC was waxing stronger by the day, based on the calibre of people who continue to join the party, among them Tambuwal.
