Okagbare strikes again!…Brume wins in Long Jump

Blessing Okagbare claimed her second sprint medal at the ongoing Commonwealth games in Scotland.

The current 100m chapion, ran the 200 metres in 22.25 seconds to claim her second gold medal at the games.

England’s Jodie Williams and Bianca Williams settled for the second and third position in a time of 22.50 and 22.75 secs respectively.

Earlier this week, on Monday evening, Okagbare broke Debbie Ferguson’s 12-year record of 10.91 secs as she ran a time of 10.85 secs to emerge as the new record holder in the women’s 100m race.

Long Jump

Nigeria won her second gold medal of the night in the Long Jump event after Ese Brume achieved a 6.56m leap.
Okagbare had earlier withdrawn her quest for a medal in the Long Jump event and opted to concentrate on the 200m race for the night.
