The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free and fair election in the state.

Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 244,662 votes to defeat his close rivals, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) and Olusola Oke of Alliance for Democracy (AD) who scored 150,381 and 126,889 votes respectively.

APC Publicity Secretary in Ondo State in a statement on Sunday said delivery of electoral materials was prompt.

Adesanya said the election was free and fair in the history of the country.

“We specially commend the sacrifices of the security agents that were deployed to various parts of Ondo State and therefore wish them journey mercies to their various states,” he said.

Adesanya assured the people of the state that “the government of Ondo State under the leadership of the governor-elect would be a regime of a new dawn where indices and traces of dictatorship, tyranny and corruption shall have no breathing space.”
