The family of late Mrs. Iche Attah, with support from the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, is sponsoring a free breast and cervical cancer screening on June 27, 2014 in Surulere, Lagos.
This is in memory of late Mrs Attah who died last year on June 27.
With over 100,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed every year in Nigeria, the Attah family solicits for donations from well-meaning individuals to organise a free cancer screening and draw attention to the deadly disease by educating women on the importance of regular screening for early detection and treatment.
The Optimal Cancer Care Foundation promotes cancer screening as a tool of prevention. It advises all eligible men and women to undergo regular cancer screening to safeguard their lives against the disease. The Foundation offers three types of screening – two in women, breast and cervix, and one in men – prostate.
The donations realised before the screening exercise will be utilized in subsidizing treatment costs for those who need financial support.
