The incredible story of a black bird turning into a woman in Lagos has been slammed as false by her 2 sons.

The elderly woman, who residents of Ajegunle said fell from the sky as a bird, was said to have confessed to being a witch who lost her way after flying in from Ibadan.

The two men who claim to be her sons however said that their mother is not a witch but had instead disappeared from their home in the Iju-Ishaga area of the state and left them frantic with worry.

Vanguard reports:

The children with undisclosed identities expressed shock over the accusation, describing it as baseless. They were said to have explained to policemen at the command that their mother lives with them at Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos but that apprehension set in following her disappearance.

While efforts to find her was on, the children said they were shocked to read about her alleged transformation from a bird into a human being in some national dailies yesterday.
According to Police sources, “they said they have never known their mother to be a witch and wondered why such rumour was spread about her.

“They said she left home without informing them of where she was going. They were, however, happy that the publication made it easy for them to locate her and also expressed joy that she was not lynched in the process.”

The traditional ruler of Layeni, Baale Rafiu Olayemi, who stated emphatically that he did not believe the claim, told Vanguard that he had to intervene during the panic and confusion by mobilising some of his loyalists to rescue the woman from the surging crowd before contacting the Police at Layeni.
