There are reports that there is a heavy military presence at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) forcing passengers to walk on foot with their luggages to the airport.
According to Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation International magazine and ThisDay columnist, “soldiers have taken over the place.”
It is not clear why there is such a heavy presence of military men at the nation’s premier transit point but many speculate that it must be a precautionary measure to keep the location secure after the deadly bomb blast in Nyanya, Abuja which has so far killed 17 people which many others injured.
