According to reports, there was a disagreement as to whether the late governor’s remains belonged with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) or to the Federal Government agencies.
The Nation reports:
While the rescuers were struggling to remove the brown casket from the aircraft, the agencies engaged in a free-for-all.
When the body was eventually removed, the agencies struggled over the vehicle in which to put it. An Air Force ambulance, marked AF054E, eventually took away the body.
Reporters were initially denied access into the premises by security operatives who said they were working under instructions.
Phones and iPads were being seized on the grounds that they could lead to fire. Security operatives used electronic gadgets and whips to keep the crowd under control.
Vehicles going to and from Ikeja were being redirected, leading to a massive traffic jam which spilled over to many parts of the sprawling city.
