The Ogun state Police Command have arrested 23 suspects for unlawful possession of firearms, Channels Television reports.
A total of 21 guns of different types was also recovered from the suspects who are alleged to have been causing havoc to the peace of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Hammed Iliyasu, paraded the suspects at the Police Headquarters at Eleweran in Abeokuta.
According to Iliyasu the suspects who were picked up from different parts of the state committed various offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping and human trafficking among others.
The Police Commissioner sought for more synergy from other security agencies to ensure effective policing of the state.
He also called for more quality information from the public in the onerous task of protecting lives and property.
