A police inspector was reportedly killed by a police corporal identified as Ozeigbe Omobunde on Monday at about 8 pm in Benin, Edo state.

Reports say the incident took place along Iyoha Road beside Benin plant of Guinness Nigeria Plc when the police inspector was on his way to an official duty at United Bank of Nigeria Plc, located along Benin-Agbor Road.

It was also gathered by newsmen that the suspect also shot another corporal identified as Ayinla.

Identity of the deceased could not be ascertained as at press time.

The corpse of the late Inspector has been deposited at an undisclosed hospital while the injured corporal is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Edo State Police Command image maker, Moses Eguavoen, said he has not been briefed on the incident, promising to call back when he gets information on what happened.
