Ladybrille Magazine, enters 2011 with a powerful punch, with a new issue tagged the January ‘New Year, Powerful You’  Edition. The cover features Teresa Clarke and Obi Asika, two groundbreaking African CEOs.

Teresa Clarke, the first black female Managing Director in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs, left the firm to pursue her passion for Africa and won the 2010 winner of BET’s Black Girl’s Rock ‘Shot Caller’ Award. The Harvard-educated entrepreneur launched Africa.com in February 2010 with the aim of redefining Africa to the world.

The Ladybrille team call Obi Asika, co-founder of Nigeria’s Storm 360 Entertainment Agency, a “Tower of Power”. In 2008, Asika was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Hip-Hop World Awards for his contributions to Africa’s music industry.

“Our goal this 2011 is to encourage and motivate our readers to step into their greatness in 2011,” said Uduak Oduok, Editor-in-Chief for Ladybrille.

“I am honored to be featured as Ladybrille’s Woman of the Month. Ladybrille is the pioneering digital magazine designed to connect the American and European markets to the African design and fashion world. I founded Africa.com to help change the way the world sees Africa.  Ladybrille represents exactly the type of new perspective on Africa that my team and I work everyday to promote. Therefore, the chance to be featured in Ladybrille is a wonderful opportunity to connect with, and be a part of a like-minded community that is changing the way the world sees Africa,” said Clarke.

Asika, who was “pleasantly surprised” to be chosen as Man of the Month said: “The story out of Africa is changing. It is one of immense creative energy which is now manifesting through music, literature, film, and television. Our urban culture is constantly fusing with our traditional African myths. To me this is the most exciting time to be a young African; and as young Africans get rid of their inhibitions and express themselves, I feel privileged to share my feelings about this and what it means to the world,” concluded the media mogul.

Both exclusive interviews of Clarke and Asika will be published on the magazine’s website (www.ladybrillemag.com) on January 10th and 12th, 2011, respectively.
